eGolfer

eGolfer is an online dashboard designed to assist golfers in organizing their golf network through the use of widgets.  This dashboard is available to all golfers using the GHIN Service, regardless if they belong to a club that uses eClubhouse or not!

The myGame dashboard has several views with a selected primary focus on scores or scoring statistics.  Additionally, widgets will supplement the primary focus view with information relevant and personalized for the golfer.  The golfer can also select an area of interest through the use of a Zip Code setting, which will then display news, events or weather applicable to the chosen area.

The eGolfer widgets include:

  • eClubhouse News that is populated from eClubhouse Web sites in the local area based on the Zip Code. If the golfer is a member of a club using eClubhouse, the club's news will be displayed as well.  Additionally, this new widget will display content from golf associations; GHIN or the USGA®; and from eClubhouse club sites within the golfers selected area that have public information to publish.
  • Events/MyEvents is a widget that displays events from the golfer’s association; club and clubs within the golfers selected area that have open events.  Once a golfer signs up for an event, it becomes listed under MyEvents.
  • MyStats is a robust round tracking and graphing capability that allows golfers to post hole-by-hole metrics and see trends represented in selected graphs for specified periods of play.
  • My Club Photo Album shows photo albums from the golfer’s club eClubhouse site.
  • USGA Handicap Index® shows the golfer’s current Index with its effective date.
  • My Courses shows courses the golfer has played recently and allows selection, display and editing capabilities.
  • My Weather is a widget that shows current temperature as well as the Hi and Low temperatures for the golfer’s selected area.  This widget also acts as a hyperlink to a pop-up Web page of more detailed weather content.
  • News Clippings is a golf RSS News feed of national stories of interest to golfers.
  • Search for other Players allows the golfer to search for other golfers to arrange a round of golf, based on their availability, ability and distance from the selected area or within eClubhouse.

eClubhouse offers everything your club will need to build a web site or accompany an existing site. With its easy to use built-in site management tools a club site can be created and customized in minutes. Within an hour the club administrator can add events to the calendar and update club news. In addition, each site can be listed in a searchable database where potential members can find your club and even join online! Members of the site have access to association and club news and events, the ability to search for another golfer to play with, statistical tools and online event sign up!

Who is eClubhouse for?
eClubhouse is for all club types and for all golfers in its membership. Any club can build a great looking professional site with its easy-to-use tools and customizable designs.

For the golfer: Maintain your profile, view and sign-up for club events, renew club membership online, post scores directly to GHIN or utilize the optional myStats Scores feature to track your game. The myStats Reports feature not only gives you standard statistics reporting, such as fairways, greens, putts and others -- but it allows you to establish your own optional statistic categories (like our favorite: BIP - Ball in Pocket). This reporting and graphing capability lets you generate clear views of your playing trends. The "Find a Golfer" feature even lets you search for other golfers in your club and nearby clubs to set up a round of golf.

For the Club: A comprehensive calendar and event management capability will allow the club administrator to keep track of meetings, events and tournaments not only in your club, but at the golf association level as well. Golfers can sign-up and even pay online using a credit card. Once entries are finished, the club can download that information right into TPP™ to streamline the preparation of tournaments. After the event, pairings and results can be uploaded to the site.

Additional features include: News, Photo, Forum, FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) and an About Us section. eClubhouse administrators can create and distribute Emails directly to the membership, creating a true communications portal for all membership functions and activities.

Looking for an eCommerce solution?

In addition to event fees, as mentioned above, your club can use the optional online eCommerce capability to collect membership fees to help facilitate renewals!

Looking for New Members?

For clubs who are looking for new members, an online application is available for prospective members and your club is automatically included in the national and association based "Find a Club" portals.

Does eClubhouse look like a match for your club?

Check with your golf association for availability, or to answer any questions you might have.

Tournament Pairing Program®

Download the TPP "Even the Best" flyer in PDF Format.

This comprehensive tournament program is leading the way with its Windows development. With essentially no restrictions, the program is commanding enough for the power user, yet designed so that the average user can easily set up and score any tournament.

A brief tournament setup wizard steps users through setting up the tournament. Players can be entered into the program from either a club listing, using rapid entry, or using the custom import feature. Handicap Indexes for both members and guests may be updated by dialing either a toll-free telephone number or using the Internet to retrieve the information.

The program allows teams and flights to be made with many different methods. A feature providing additional alternate teams and flights has been introduced to allow users to conduct more than one event in the same tournament with only one score entry being needed. Pairings may be done with many powerful methods that include: randomly, entry number, sort sequence, sum of gross score, sum of net score, Handicap Index, ABCD, and manually. Exchanges are powerful and easy to use with simple drag-and-drop techniques. A simple right mouse click from this screen can make cart assignments, insert an additional pairing group, or add another position/column for another player for any existing pairing group.

Players, teams or flights may play from different tees or a different golf course altogether in the same tournament. Applying Section 3-5 (Players Playing from Different Tees) of the USGA Handicap System Manual can be applied to either different genders or the same gender playing from different tees.

Scorecards are designed with many custom options with the program printing the entire face of the scorecard. This prevents alignment problems that are unavoidable when printing into a grid and also allows GHIN to support numerous printers. These same scorecard designs are used at all USGA Amateur Championships. TPP can print numerous reports to include: tee times, scorecards, alphabetical lists, starter's lists, result lists, match play tree, and even print cart signs. With over 100 reports within the report library, golf clubs can produce any report desired. In addition to these pre-designed reports is a powerful report designer allowing any golf club to design its own report by choosing the appropriate field and sort information and dragging the information around on the report layout canvas. Once any report is designed and saved, the club may use that report at any time in the future.

Depending on how scores are entered, a variety of formats may be scored including: Gross, Net, Stableford, Chicago Quota, College, Round Robin, Best Ball(s), Best Score(s), Skins, Match Play, and more.

This program will allow the user to be as creative as possible when using the program and is provided to clubs at no extra cost.

All Golf Associations and GHIN clubs are provided several valuable software programs and services as part of the GHIN service. Clubs will receive a preseason package with updated Handicap Indexes, Information Notices, and any updated GHIN software releases. GHIN revises its Handicap Program software on an on-going basis with new and improved added features.

The GHIN software poses no additional cost to the clubs or association. As new software features become available, they will be distributed to the clubs as a service from your Golf Association.

Some of the advantages of the GHIN Handicap Program software are:

  • Twelve-month score and Handicap Index archives.
  • Enhanced peer review via member lookup and score ticker features.
  • Automatic electronic transmissions that are totally transparent to golfers.

The GHIN Handicap Program software provides for scores to be electronically routed from any club within the GHIN network. Away scores are re-routed to the home clubs Clubs have access to the USGA Handicap Indexes of all other two million golfers on GHIN across the country. Clubs may inquire about the USGA Handicap Index of any visiting golfer on GHIN Each golfer can see the immediate impact that each new score may have on the individual's Handicap Index at the next revision via the Trend.

You may provide news releases (up to 20 lines of 78 characters per line) to your clubs using GHIN Handicap Program software by submitting the information to GHIN, or utilizing the GHIN VPN Package access to the Enterprise Server. Reports may be created and printed locally, as well as sorted many different ways: by golfer's name, GHIN number, local number, Handicap Index, print group, or a combination of all of the above.

The GHIN Handicap Program software effectively manages score posting; Handicap Index calculations; exceptional tournament score reduction (Section 10-3 of the USGA Handicap System); allows access to all Course Ratings and Slope Ratings contained in the association-wide database; performs golfer Handicap Index and score inquiries; networks all golf club members on the GHIN service and much more.

Score Posting Made Easy

GHIN has made posting scores easy and simple. Clubs may selectively choose to use an easy-to-remember two-to six-digit local number to access their files. A menu will then appear, which can be customized, with all the necessary information for golfers to post their scores. The golfer's name, GHIN number, Handicap Index, score history, current date, and most-often-played tee will appear on the screen automatically. The golfer only has to enter the score and confirm the other information. Once the score is posted, it will then be shown on the screen and automatically saved. An optional musical tune can be played in the background for confirmation.

Touch Screen Interface

GHIN has developed an optional golfer interface that utilizes touch screen technology to simplify the score posting experience for members. Our current Windows version software has been designed to easily integrate this touch screen technology, allowing members to remain comfortable with the same interface.

Flexibility

One of the most important features of the GHIN Handicap Program software is the tremendous flexibility of the program. GHIN services more than 7,700 computerized golf clubs around the country, all with many different needs. This can only be accomplished through the flexibility of the many options throughout the program. Options may be set to prompt the member for score information when posting a score such as score type, tee played, and choice of posting an adjusted score or using hole-by-hole entry, which automatically computes Equitable Stroke Control. Clubs may allow individual score posting or restrict posting to a committee or staff member, but in either case, fellow members may review other members' score histories by a simple last name lookup feature.

Features with Password Restrictions

The GHIN Handicap Program software has many other features located in the Handicap management module, which can only be accessed from the membership score entry screen with a password. These features include Rapid Score Entry, Player Management, Preference Management, Club Management, Reports, Inquiry, Transmission and Messages. Additionally a scrolling screen-saver is comprised of electronically updated news from your Golf Association, association logos, as well as current USGA press releases.

Simplified Transmissions

Clubs using the GHIN Handicap Program software can set an automatic dial feature, which transmits at scheduled days and times chosen by the club. The program is designed to automatically dial GHIN's toll-free telephone number and send all transactions and scores posted on the PC to the Enterprise Server. The communication options now include utilizing the Internet or the AT&T Global Network for transmission of information. This feature is designed to also automatically communicate during times set by the club.

Hole-by-Hole Stroke Analysis

GHIN can perform a Hole-by-Hole Stroke Allocation Analysis for any club that provides GHIN with scorecard data. There is a small charge for the data entry service. If the Golf Association wishes to enter the scores and analyze the club information itself, GHIN will provide a Hole-by-Hole Stroke Allocation Analysis PC Program, with instructions, at no cost. Additionally, the GHIN Handicap Program software includes the ability to import Hole-by-Hole entered scores into a module for analysis.

Multi-Terminal Option

The GHIN Handicap Program software supports multi-terminal systems consisting of a host machine and several remote terminals. The host computer may be operated from a central office and used to communicate to the GHIN Enterprise Server, as well as run all the GHIN software programs. The remote workstations may be placed in the golf shop, locker rooms or other traffic areas that will facilitate entering scores.

GHIN multi-terminal systems can utilize Windows or other networking software, which offers an Ethernet-type network. Such networks operate at a much more reduced cost than other major network systems. The GHIN Handicap Program software will run under other networking systems, but the complexity may increase. The benefits gained from using the Ethernet-type network are:

  • Simpler to set up and maintain.
  • Less expensive to acquire.
  • Faster response time when running the remote workstations and entering scores.

Clubs using the GHIN multi-terminal system have found it to be reliable and advantageous. The number of multi-terminal network clubs has grown to over 500 since their introduction in 1990.

Update

An essential part of the USGA® Handicap System™ is that all golfers in a region have their Handicap Index® updated on regular and consistent basis.
